Rachael Mutawa is one of the many members of the Women’s Empowerment Program at U-TOUCH, who found hope in what the program is about. She is a senior six leaver who had lost hope and never believed that things in her life could become better. She heard about the Women’s Empowerment Program (WEP) at U-TOUCH and was interested to learn more about what it offered, and the impact it had on women’s lives. Shortly after enrolling in the program for training in March 2019, Rachael gained a set of life skills that would impact her life for the better. She learned leadership, presentational, and entrepreneurial skills from the helpful and inspiring U-TOUCH staff. Apart from being taught vocational skills, Rachael learned how to channel her inner confidence and chase after her dreams. What seemed to be so far away from attainable, became Rachael’s reality after her training in the WEP. Following her training in 2019, she received a certificate from U-TOUCH that aided her in getting a job with the TECHNO Company in Mbale as a sales manager. Not only is Rachael able to support and provide financial stability for herself, but her income is enough to help out her family as well. She expresses gratitude for the way U-TOUCH was able to turn her life around and give her a second chance at her dreams. Within the WEP, women are taught a set of skills that will help that escape poverty and be able to financially support themselves and their families while inspiring others. There is no limit to what a woman can accomplish when they are given the opportunity!
